Overview

The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) is the state agency under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture responsible for regulating tourism in Ghana — marketing, promoting, licensing, classifying, researching and developing tourism facilities and services. Established in 1960 as the Ghana Tourist Board, it was renamed the Ghana Tourism Authority in 2011 under Act 817, which also established a tourism-development fund to which every tourism business contributes one percent of its revenue.
